Coastal Website Design

ABOUT COASTAL

Experience, Curiosity, and the Ability to Adapt.

I'm Rick, the person behind Coastal Website Design.

I've spent more than four decades working with technology—solving problems, making systems behave, and helping people get useful results from tools that don't always cooperate. That background shapes everything I do here.

The tools have changed considerably over the years, but my curiosity and willingness to adapt haven't.

I started in systems programming and large-scale computing environments, then moved into helping small businesses through PC Pros. I began developing websites around 2006 and later co-founded FaithClicks SEO. Along the way, I worked with 360° photography and virtual tours. More recently, I have been developing Multi360Viewer, an interactive 360° gallery system.

What I've learned is that a website is rarely just a design project. It's a practical system that needs to communicate clearly, work reliably, and help a business connect with the people it's trying to reach.

How I Work

I enjoy the creative side of building websites, but I also care about the less glamorous parts: planning, structure, troubleshooting, and making the pieces fit together. Problems aren't always obvious on the surface, and the best solution is often the practical one rather than the flashiest.

Today, that includes using AI thoughtfully—not as a substitute for experience or good judgment, but as a tool that can help with research, planning, and development. The underlying skills remain the same: understand the goal, break the work into manageable pieces, evaluate the results, and keep refining until it works.

What I Bring to Coastal

Coastal Website Design brings together my technical experience, real-world problem-solving, and years of working directly with business owners.

I'm still curious. I'm still learning. And I still get real satisfaction from figuring out how to make something work better.

If that approach sounds useful for your project, I'd be glad to talk.
